The challenge
We began this project by dismantling and removing the work of a previous landscaping company, which had been completed just months earlier but failed to meet the client’s expectations. This required clearing the entire site to create a blank canvas for a fresh start.
The client envisioned a sleek, contemporary garden that was both low maintenance and in harmony with their home’s modern aesthetic. Key features they wanted to incorporate included a striking water feature, a built-in seating area with a fire pit for socializing, a full lighting plan, and carefully curated planting for year-round interest. Additionally, they desired a discreet yet functional working area for growing their own fruit and vegetables, seamlessly screened from the rest of the garden to maintain a clean and refined look.
Balancing aesthetics with practicality, the challenge was to design a space that met all these needs while ensuring effortless upkeep and a natural flow between relaxation, entertainment, and functionality
The solution
With low maintenance being a key priority for this project, we designed the main hardstanding areas using high-quality porcelain paving. As a non-porous material, porcelain ensures durability and long-term resilience while maintaining a sleek, modern look. The design seamlessly incorporated all the client’s desired features while adding depth, shape, and visual interest.
One of the unique challenges of this project was access—every element had to be built through a narrow 900mm gateway. However, at Style Earth, we are well-equipped to handle such logistical constraints. Even some of our largest projects are completed through small side entrances, thanks to our expertise, specialized equipment, and problem-solving approach.
The final result was a garden that perfectly balanced style and function, offering a variety of feature areas for relaxation, entertainment, and year-round enjoyment. The client was over the moon with the transformation, and even on rainy days, the garden remained a stunning focal point when viewed from the house.
